βΌοΈFirst signs of rebuilding my planche after my shoulder injury π π Great morning at the beach with @yashka_voronov before Battle of the Bars Bahrain π§ππ§ππ§π
1 month away from returning home to California and I look forward to seeing my friends, @the_reconnection_experience & @spiderman_beyond, who I've known since I started Calisthenics πͺπΌπͺπΌπͺπΌ Next workshop May 5-6 Bristol, UK at @pr1mestarfitness17 πͺπΌ
Although the AbRoller is a great tool, it can sometimes be too much on the shoulders if you haven't built up the necessary strength. Using an Exercise Ball to do "Roll Outs" will allow you to perform a similar movement without the added strain to the shoulders. @academydiscipline @faleenation
Weighted Calisthenics: I try to integrate weighted sets at least once a week to build overall strength and to increase muscle mass. This has been my heaviest set since returning to training after my injury (60KG, 132 lbs). I'll be sharing tips, routines, and variety of info about fitness on the @menwithhealth Instagram stories for the next 24 hours!!
Post injury Personal Best Front Lever: 27 seconds with @3a9oomm hit 34 secondsπ₯π₯π₯ @academydiscipline @world_calisthenics_org
This video was taken before I tore my rotator cuff. I thought I'd be back at it within a few months, but truth be told, it took about 5 months to be able to fully move my arm without pain. I tried to force it the first few months thinking I could just push past the pain. After accepting that certain injuries take time to heal, I laid off trying to force my shoulder to work. I started from scratch in November, and now after about 5 months of proper training without pain I'm happy to see my progress. I'm not where I was, but I've learned a lot and will be stronger than ever in a few more months. I'm not rushing to beat where I was, but I can see the progress on a weekly basis. I'm grateful for this injury because it has made me reflect the way I train and has forced me to be a better coach to myself and my students πͺπΌ @jenstateofmind π

The journey to executing the #FrontLever all starts with the #Pullup. Starting from the Pull-up position will make it much easier to get into the Tuck Front Lever. This movement opens the door to either holding the Tuck Front Lever or going back and forth from the top of the Pull-up position to Tuck FL and back. If you're more advanced, use this movement to reinforce your Front Lever by executing this towards the end of your training!!! Upcoming WCO Level 1 and 2 Workshops with me: π§π Bahrain: March 30-31 @academydiscipline π¬π§ Bristol: May 5-6 @pr1mestarfitness17 π¬πΉ Guatemala May 19-20 @Calistbarzzguatemala π²π½ Mexico: May 25-26 @santuariopuebla πΊπΈ Los Angeles: June 16-17 @xaltfitness Don't miss out! πͺπΌπ
The question should not be "how do I perform a Handstand Push-up?" but "am I ready to train a Handstand Push-up?" Progressions are great when the movements are appropriate. Before trying a Handstand Push-up, make sure you can do the following: π 20-25 Dips to ensure you have the push strength π 1 minute strict Handstand with hollow body to ensure correct alignment π Superman Plank to ensure you have the core strength Upcoming WCO Level 1 and 2 Workshops with me: π§π Bahrain: March 30-31 @academydiscipline π¬π§ Bristol: May 5-6 @pr1mestarfitness17 π²π½ Mexico: May 25-26 @santuariopuebla πΊπΈ Los Angeles: June 16-17 @xaltfitness Don't miss out! πͺπΌπ @world_calisthenics_org
