It’s been about 7 years since I met these incredible kids and their family in a situation that I hope nobody else ever has to experience in their life. Over those 7 years, they have proven to be an inspiration not only for me, but for so many around them. They are what I call “energy-givers”. Every time that we hang out, I leave with more energy, excitement and passion for life than when I walked in. The smiles are endless, the stories are unforgettable and the friendships are forever. (and there always seems to be some form of cake or cupcake nearby too). Peter & Aaron just won the Wheelchair Basketball National Championship last weekend, Noah & Misha took 1st and 2nd in the State Tennis Tournament respectively, Willa got a 99 on her history test (nice number) and has a State Championship soccer run coming up and Charlie got to lick the leftover cupcake off my face 😂, so it’s winners all around for the Berry family!! It is a truly special bond and friendship that I am forever thankful for.
Your recovery from this injury has inspired me, motivated me and made me appreciate you even more than I already had! I could not be more proud of you and the woman that you are. You have worked so hard and put so much energy and effort into this comeback, I couldn’t be happier for you today! I hope that you enjoy every second and have an absolute blast doing what you love on that field again!!! I love you!! @kealiamae
I am incredibly honored and humbled to be included on the Time 100 list of most influential people in the world. I am only able to be an influence for others because I have been fortunate enough to have some incredible people influence me. From my family and friends, to my teammates and coaches, to the incredible fans in Houston and around the world. I have been motivated and inspired by you every step of the way and I cannot thank you enough for continuing to remind me that there is no dream too big as long as you are willing to put in the work and make the sacrifices. Most importantly, this last year has shown me that the power of positivity is alive and well. When Harvey hit and people saw the devastation that it brought, friends and strangers alike stepped up to the plate from all parts of the word to help their fellow human in need. We still have a long ways to go and our work is far from over, but the more that we can continue to shine a light on the positivity and the willingness to help others, the better off this world is going to be.
Rest In Peace Mrs. Barbara Bush. You were a beautiful light in this world and I am forever grateful for your friendship.
We started by offering Dream Big Work Hard wristbands for $1 back when I was in college and now we have donated over $4 MILLION to middle schools all across the country!! Thank you for your unbelievable support!!!
