Today on the blog I tackle body shaming. I have been shamed at my smallest (photo 3) and shamed at my healthiest (photos 1 and 2). Body shaming is never ok, whatever the size of the person. It achieves nothing if the person is sick like I was. Your comments of “eat a burger”, or “fat” sting, and cause far more damage than good. If you feel the need to body shame a stranger behind the shield of your phone, you are a coward, who needs to take a good look at why you act the way you do. We are so much more than our bodies. So make the decision to love yours today - and send love and support to those who may be struggling. Never send hate. Link in bio ❤️❤️
Today on the blog I talk about how I keep an eye on my anxiety. I remember when this shoot was done, I was a complete mess. I hadn’t slept, I was so nervous about that fact that I had “gained weight” (my words). Thankfully everyone on set was absolutely lovely, the day went smoothly and easily. But my lack of self confidence triggered a long round of neglecting to eat. I have learned from times like this (and dozens others) how to recognize my warning signs. I hope if you are struggling maybe it will help you too. Link in bio. Love to you all ❤️❤️❤️
Today on the blog I tackle amenorrhea (losing your period). Real talk. from 2009-2017 I lost mine on average six months a year, from not allowing my body to sit at the size that is healthy and natural for me. I’m so thankful I have no lasting health complications - but this is not ok. We should never feel the need to force our bodies beyond what is healthy in order to fit in with societies expectations of us. Wherever we are fit and healthy, is the perfect size for us. I am not playing anymore with my health, because my wellness comes before anyone else’s twisted idea of what is “perfect”. #idictatemyroad - as we all should. Let’s keep making the decision to love our bodies, exactly wherever they sit best. That is what perfection is. (Link in bio).
