DONUT disturb, alone time please! 🙅🏻‍♀️💆🏻‍♀️ Western culture tends to equate a desire for solitude with people who are lonely, sad, or have antisocial tendencies. But seeking solitude can actually be healthy! In fact, there are many physical and psychological benefits to spending time alone. Solitude allows you to reboot your brain and unwind. Being by yourself with no distractions gives you the chance to clear your mind, focus, and think more clearly. Solitude helps you work through problems more effectively. It's difficult to think of effective solutions to problems when you're distracted by incoming information, regardless of whether that information is electronic or human. Solitude can enhance the quality of your relationships with others. By spending time with yourself and gaining a better understanding of who you are and what you desire in life, you're more likely to make better choices about who you want to be around.

DIY Sports Drink with health and possibly beauty benefits? Yes please! - - - I use this mix for healthy hydration alternative (bye sugar store bought ‘sports drinks’) after a BIG SWEAT SESSION such as a particularly intense HIIT session, Bikram Yoga, or if I am dehydrated (the latter is a state which I generally aim to avoid). When we sweat and workout we lose minerals (or electrolytes), and pink salt is one way to add them back in the body quickly with water. This can lead to muscle cramps OUCH! Here is how I make up my mix (get creative with flavours): - - - 1. Add x2 pinches (0.70 grams) of pink salt to a glass 2. Add filtered water to the glass (hot water or cold with ice) 3. Add lemon wedges or freshly squeezed lemon juice to taste (optional) 4. Add green or peppermint tea (optional) 5. Drink up! - - - Himalayan pink salt is packed with over 84 trace minerals & elements that make it incredibly nourishing for your body. These minerals are vital to our health, including magnesium, potassium, calcium, chloride, phosphorus, & iron. - - - Our body needs sodium to survive, it’s essential for a number of processes including preventing low blood pressure, fluid balance, facilitating nerve & muscle function. Other (by my research unsubstantiated) health claims for Pink Salt include strengthening bones, improving circulation, avoiding excess water retention, prevention of premature aging, helping the body detoxify, boosting energy to improving digestion, & promoting healthy hair, skin, & nails. - - - The National Health & Medical Research Council (Australia) has set an ‘Adequate Intake’ of 20–40 mmol (460–920 mg) of sodium per day.  Pink Himalayan salt has about 1700 mg of sodium per teaspoon (this will vary depending if the source is in rock or ground form). One teaspoon = 5.54 grams of pink salt. Himalayan pink salt is a preferable alternative to table salt which is refined & does not contain the aforementioned trace minerals. Be mindful of the amount you choose to consume per day in conjunction with other food & beverage choices as excess sodium increases your risk of hypertension, osteoporosis, & kidney disease. - - - SWIPE
