When you get all ready to record a PR because you’re sure you can get 2 pull ups this time.. and then you can’t even get one.🤦🏻‍♀️😂 Reminder to myself and you guys that you aren’t going to set a record everyday, and sometimes you have to push yourself as hard as you can even if you end up failing embarrassing yourself. Everyone is different, and has different strengths and weaknesses. But I swear I am going conquer this weakness of mine and keep working until I master pull ups.😈 . Please get a laugh out of my struggle lol 😂

Nothing better than a full body day... except having a gym buddy to do it with. I'm so proud of @rachaelcollinsesq for pushing herself through everything I come up with. EveryBODY is different. So let’s get into it, and sorry for the guys 💁‍♀️ PERIODS, lets talk about it. So, when I was struggling with my eating disorder and at an extremely unhealthy body fat percentage I never lost my period. Doctors said it was most likely my birth control keeping me regulated. Then out of no where this past October - November ish ... I completely stopped getting it. I went to the doctors to do test/ blood work and everything came back fine. So then, we looked at my diet. At this point, I was pretty high in my bulk. So it shouldn’t have to do with nutrition. We never figured it out. The doctors said it was probably my birth control preventing me from getting it. ➰ ➰ ➰ Well guess what!! I GOT IT! I have been constant for two months now! And, I am near the end of my reverse... so eating good amount less than I was when I lost it! (Height of bulk) I’m pretty much opposite of what other people experience... IF this is nutrition related. I guess we will wait to find out. Stop comparing your journeys to others because IS EVERYBODY IS DIFFERENT!

Happy almost Friday y’all! So initially I was wanting to post portions of my workouts for you guyssss. BUT, the past two weeks have been off the wall crazy! Brett was sick, then i was sick, & we both have been having to crack down on some school work & I got a new job! (YAY!) However, that doesn’t excuse my absence in the gym 🤦🏼‍♀️ I preach that consistency is key & that is still rightfully so! So here I am holding myself accountable & being real w. y’all & using this as the motivation I need to get back in the gym after a hard (& busy) period! So anyways! Circling back to how I wanted to post workout videos; because of my limited time in the gym I figured doing a video on proper form with deadlift would be suitable & simple! • 👇🏼 ( insert educational rant ) 👇🏼 • Form is your foundation in the gym! It’s what you build from, & if your foundation isn’t built properly, you WILL NOT benefit from your workouts. Even worse, you will end up working the incorrect muscles & the end result from that is muscle imbalances. Which then leads to poor posture, back pain, joint issues, synergistic dominance, etc. the list of terrifying issues just keep adding up!! *SIDE NOTE* don’t be embarrassed or disappointed if you have to go down in weight to correct your form, because like I said, if you’re deadlifting 225 GREAT. BUT, if you’re doing it with incorrect form, the exercise starts working against you. Take the time & fix whatever it is that needs fixing! In the end, it WILL make you stronger! Happy lifting 💕 • Notice the differences in the two videos. Keep a neutral spine, it should all be one fluid motion! Also, be sure to completely let the weight go at the end of the motion, the point of deadlifting is to pick up DEAD weight! As for keeping your chin tucked or not i believe that is personal preference! One article by T Nation states that the more extended the neck is the harder it is to round your upper back. It’s a slightly controversial topic I feel like, but find what works for you (within reason of correct form) & roll with it! #ptula
