Yeah you already saw it on the story but it was too good not to post👅👅 I'm feeling hella sore today & I have games this weekend so I'm taking a rest day! This is totally not food related but... idk if anyone else does this but when I have a bad practice I get suuuper in my head & negative and it's hard to get out of it- so if you have tips/tricks I'd love to hear them!! I have soccer every weekend through April & a big ID camp next weekend and I just want to do my best & not stress about it Anyway... now I'm off to walk the dogs & make a Target run🎯 DEETS: Big Island acai bowl with granola, banana, hemp seeds, pollen (I think), natural pb & honey @franklinjuice Nashville ppl you should go!! They have stores in 12 South & Factory at Franklin!!
Spring break is treating me well🤤 I can sleep in and make a breakfast that I actually want- like whole wheat pancakes bc I haven't had them in soooo long! (But healthified obv ;)) So my first practice yesterday didn't happen bc a lax team was practicing on the field we use 🙄 but I had my other 2 and they went well! Hopefully today I'll get all 3 in again ++ I need to do some homework and run some errands! It feels amazing outside & im loving it- makes me happy 😄 DEETS: 🥞 @aldiusa Whole wheat pancake mix, @pb2foods drizzle, kiwi & strawbs🥝🍓
When Matt Fitzgerald travelled the world observing the top athletes in their given fields, he noticed a commonality in the structure of their diets. Can you guess what it was? That’s right, they were carbohydrate centred. Sure, you can train and compete whilst using a low carb or ketogenic approach- and for dieting I believe LCHF is a truly great tool for appetite suppression. But for optimal performance, carbs win every time. Basic biology tells us that glucose is the bodies preferred fuel source and (under normal conditions) fat will always be stored for periods where food is not readily available. When you eat a ketogenic diet, the body quite literally thinks it is being starved. Yes, absolutely you can subside on a near zero carb diet because the human bodies number one priority is to survive, but this does not make it optimal. Granted, exercise shows we burn more fat when we exercise on a low carb regime in comparison to a moderate carb approach, but here’s the kicker- when you are low carb you’re eating way more fat than you would on a balanced diet anyway! And if the goal is to improve insulin sensitivity, as an athlete, you should know that every single time you exercise you are improving your tissues sensitivity to insulin, so this is rarely an issue for 99% of the population. Some people like to take a low carb day or train fasted but unless this is a regular practice the transient nature of such approaches renders them all but moot. I should clarify that I am not an authority on this topic by any means, this is simply what I have learned over a good deal of time through reading, listening, studying and in practice on both myself and clients. I utilise nearly all methods of dieting for my clients dependant on their goals and what they’ll stick to, whether it’s keto, fasting, veganism or the most fun of all- high carb massing! #asicsfrontrunneruk #asicsfrontrunner #imoveme #carbs #ilovecarbs #diets #fuel #performancefuel #endurancediet #athletesdiet #runrunrun #runnersofinstagram #instarun #eattoperform #powerlifting #ironmanintraining #swimbikerun #instafitness #healthandperformance
